Not Enough

Curse you, silly me.

My New Job as a Business Consultant.

Posted by Unknown | Posted in , | Posted on Saturday, January 26, 2013

Got a job as a Business Consultant in a gold investment company this Monday. The job desk, however, is quite far from the usual business consultant, as far as I know at least. This job requires me to find new clients and then give suggestions regarding their investment.

It pays well once I have a client. Meanwhile, however, I still have no luck in finding one so my payment will not be that much :(

Let's hope next week will be better!

(Damn) Dream!

Dream: n (1) Something that pulls the hopeless me into hopeful me, which practically pushes me forward to something I dare call betterment. (2) Something that motivates me, forcing the heavy steps I have into a lighter one.

I Vote for Saving Endangered Language!

Posted by Unknown | Posted in , | Posted on Saturday, January 05, 2013

How many languages do you speak? One? Two? Are you one of the multilingual speakers who can talk more than two languages?

If you speak more than one language, then you must notice the expanse of the world that you can see through language. How une and un describe the object; how kaniktshaq, anijo, and ivuneq are used to picture a simple snow; or simply how the language itself brings you closer to people you could proudly call as friend.

Language is fascinating. For me language is the closest thing that we human have to magic. How's not? Language bears culture. Language could be a mirror of one's personality or emotion. Plus, do you see how great authors like J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and J.K. Rowling created a new magical universe through their words? Word, language, magic.

Thus, wouldn't it be a pity if one language is endangered?

Ú I Vethed Nâ I Onnad: Happy Birthday, Tolkien!

Before anyone asks, no, the title above does not mean happy birthday at all in Elvish. I took it from a Sindarin song, Evenstar, voiced by Fiona McNeal. It means "It's not the end, it's the beginning". Sounds fancy, right?

Should I Change My Major?

Posted by Unknown | Posted in | Posted on Friday, January 04, 2013

Apparently Florida, US, has a plan to give discount on tuition each year for any university or college students who want to change their major to engineering.

Now if the question is asked to me: Will you, as an English Literature student, change your major to engineering if the discount is offered to you? Note in here please that engineering students usually have wider prospects in different field of job than my current major. So, will you?

Problem Sir: Describing without the Object

Posted by Unknown | Posted in , , | Posted on Friday, January 04, 2013

Any amateur writer and scholars will know the basic procedure in describing something: take a look at the object (if you can), take a note of its notable features and distinctions, and then start picturing it in detail. Descriptive writing usually requires the writer to describe a person, a thing, an eventanything to make the said subject looks vivid to the reader through detail. That is the basic as I know anyway.

However, for my part-time writing job, I ought to write about a product without knowing the real product. Usually, my boss sends me the kind of text that the clients want or what kind of products that I have to review or describe about. I usually write about home and design, health, home appliances, make-up, etc. For example I have to write about the latest dishwasher from a company, and I have to describe its quality, functions, the plus-minus, and so on. But for today special job: nothing.

The instruction is actually quite clear: I need to write about a productmay it home appliances, make-up, electronics, or furniture—but I do not need to know the product that I need to write about.

At first, I thought this will be simple. I'm sad to tell you that it's not as simple as I thought before.

I mean, how do you tell that the product that I write about is pink? What about if it is blue? What if it is not made of natural products? How about it uses animal testing while I write none of that cruel process? How should I know?

To make things worse, I have to write 3 texts with 400 words each. And I only have 1 hour left until the deadline. That's awesome, thankyouverymuch.

It's Not Much But It's a Start

Been a while since I last posted any in blog. I don't even know why I start blogging again except that I need some place to put the jumble and grumble and ramble I have in mind. I need to let those bad girls free, out from my mind. So, blog is the place.

Though I will mostly write this blog in English, mind you that I am not a native speaker and make plenty or misteik and grammer errors here and there.

Here we go then...
